Upper Arlington is proud to have been designated as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation since 1990, and each year we celebrate UA’s urban forest with an Arbor Day tree planting ceremony. Since it’s 2018 and UA is celebrating 100, Upper Arlington and Tri-Village Rotary Clubs and the City celebrated bigger than ever this year with10 ceremonial planting locations at the community’s public and private schools. Members of City Council, Upper Arlington and Tri-Village Rotary Clubs, Interact students and children from each school helped plant 10 new trees at each site and this wonderful project was made possible courtesy of a partnership between UA and Tri-Village Rotary Clubs and the City.
The ten schools are: St. Agatha School, Jones Middle School, Tremont Elementary School, Windermere Elementary School, Burbank Early Childhood School, Hastings Middle School, Greensview Elementary School, Wellington Elementary School, St. Andrew’s School and Wickliffe Elementary School.
As you can see from the pictures below, each location had a great turnout and our community will be able to enjoy these trees moving forward into the next century.
